CSLB (CA)California Contractors State License Board
California Contractors State License Board · Pending · awaiting public-records request (no profile rendering yet)
California's Contractors State License Board (CSLB) regulates contractor licensing in California. The DataPortal at cslb.ca.gov is interactive-only; bulk data requires a California Public Records Act request submitted to the agency.
How this source shows up on OwnListed.
Manifest registered + ingestion pilot ready. Pending operator-supplied CPRA-response CSV. Once written, CA HVAC / electrician / solar / roofer / GC profiles will surface license number + classification + status.
What this source does NOT mean
State license records reflect public state filings. Status, expiration, bond, and workers'-compensation information change over time — confirm current status with the state board directly before hiring.
Per-field display contract.
Every field below has a `display_allowed` flag in the §94 provenance schema. Write-locked fields are captured to provenance for audit but never rendered on profile pages.

- CSLB bulk data requires a CPRA request; OwnListed has not yet applied the operator-supplied CSV.
- Until the first --write run, CA HVAC / electrician / solar profiles do not carry a state-license card.
- California licenses can carry multiple classifications (e.g. 'B, C-20, C-39'); we render them verbatim.

What the source allows.
California Public Records Act response data is public; CSLB's terms restrict bulk re-publication of contractor lists for solicitation purposes. OwnListed renders fields per the CSLB display contract only — license number, classification, status. We do not surface CSLB data for marketing-list use; the display layer is consumer-facing licensing transparency on a provider profile.
